Wet Hot American Summer - 25th Anniversary Deluxe Pressing (LP)

Rusted Wave is pleased to release this deluxe pressing of the WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER soundtrack in honor of the film's 25th anniversary!

This deluxe and expanded release features a comprehensive presentation of the film’s music, from Theodore Shapiro and Craig Wedren’s brilliantly 80s score (including previously unreleased cues) to favorites including Mr. Blue & Chubb Rock’s hip hop jam “Summer in America”, Peter Salett’s “Wet Hot American Dream”, and Shapiro & Wedren’s iconic 80s montage anthem "Higher & Higher”. In a sort of meta fever dream, this pressing also features an exclusive cover of “Higher and Higher” by Middle Aged Dad Jam Band, featuring David Wain, Craig Wedren and Ken Marino, which serves as a joyous tribute to the film’s enduring themes of friendship and the summer camp exuberance.

The centerpiece of this release is a newly assembled liner notes booklet featuring personal recollections from cast members, production anecdotes from the making of the film, and rare photography documenting life on and off camera during the legendary summer shoot, graciously shared by Zak Orth. Together, the materials offer fans an intimate look at the creation of one of the most influential cult comedies of its generation.

Originally released in 2001, Wet Hot American Summer has grown from an under-the-radar comedy into a cultural phenomenon, inspiring a passionate fan base, multiple Netflix series, and countless repeat viewings. To mark the film’s 25th anniversary, Rusted Wave has curated an expanded soundtrack experience that captures the irreverent spirit, nostalgia, and heart that have made Camp Firewood a comedy institution.

The LP is housed in a deluxe gatefold and is available online and at independent record stores nationwide on “Campfire Orange” vinyl (900 units) and, exclusively on Rusted Wave's website, in a super limited hand poured “Mixed Veggies” variant (100 units).
